VBS is coming soon!

I am so excited about VBS! We are going to explore Jesus' miracles with a scientific spin! Even if you don't love science, I'll guarantee that you will have a great time learning about Jesus! We've got a lot of great volunteers already, but we can always use more hands! Even if you can only volunteer a day or two, we find a place to put you to use! If you haven't registered to attend or volunteer, please do so at the VBS link at www.mcknightroad.org. Remember to register by July 11th to guarantee that you get a t-shirt! You won't regret being part of our Power Lab!
Don't forget to RSVP for Munchin' With The Martins on July 12th! It is Kids' Community's turn to munch! I am looking forward to having a full house - it would be wonderful to spill out into the backyard! We've got plenty of shade!
Happy Birthday to Riley (29th), Benjamin E. (2nd), and Marisa (3rd)!

Faces You Know, Some in New Places

Kids of the Spirit welcomed Ms. Eva as one of their new first hour teachers! Ms. Eva will be teaching one Sunday a month. There is a spot open for you if you want to join our crew!
Kids of the Spirit have been reading through the Bible from the beginning and we're going all the way to the end! This Sunday, we finished 1 Samuel and will start tackling 2 Samuel next week. Our kids are great at remembering their Bibles each Sunday! I am so proud of them!
Kid's Community is learning about the Fruit of the Spirit this summer. Mr. John and Mrs. Christy are teaching the first hour this summer so their regular teachers can get a well-deserved break. Thanks guys for all the things you do for Kid's Community! Also, thanks to Ms. Anna who is helping them out this summer! In case you're wondering, Mr. John is getting the secret fruit out of the barn. Parents, be sure to practice the Fruit of the Spirit song so everyone can celebrate together at the end of the summer!
I am so excited that Ms. Rosemary and Mr. Elliot (also known as Mr. E) are teaching the first hour in King's Kids. I've already heard how great they are with the 2 and 3 year olds! Also, I appreciate the Gills teaching the second hour in King's Kids. As you can see, it takes a lot of hands serving to teach our kids about God's love!
Other Reminders:
*Register for VBS at www.mcknightroad.org by July 11th to guarantee that you get a VBS shirt! Of course, you can register up to the last minute! :)
*VBS CDs are now on sale for $8! Part of the proceeds will help us make our VBS service project even bigger! We will be signing soccer balls and sending them with the Honduras and Panama mission teams in 2009.
*Thanks to everyone for their flexibility on Wed. night! We are piloting our check-in system. This program enables us to make sure that we are connecting the child to the parent (especially at pick up times), support families whose children have special needs such as food allergies, and be visitor friendly. We will begin the check-in system on Sundays in the fall.

The First Ever Munchin' With The Martins

Jennifer, Parker, and I were so excited to host seven families from the Nursery and King's Kids! We missed those of you who were out of town or had sick kids at home. We really enjoyed fellowshiping with all of you. As you can see, the kids had a great time playing in Parker's playroom. We are looking forward to July 12th when it is Kids' Community's turn to munch with us!
Don't miss registering for VBS at mcknightroad.org! VBS is July 21-25, 9AM to Noon. If you register by July 11th, you get a T-shirt! Also, you can sign up to volunteer when you register your kids. We need workers in the nursery, Bible center, Games, and preschool.
Happy Birthday this week to Bradley (8th), Everlie (11th), and Steven (13th)!!!
